Programming Manager appointed

Footscray Community Arts Centre is thrilled to announce the appointment of Michael Brennan in the role of Programming Manager.

Michael brings a vast array of experience to Footscray Community Arts Centre. He has exhibited extensively holding 7 solo exhibitions and in excess of 30 group shows. Other accolades have included a 3-month Australia Council residency in Tokyo (2007) as well as being exhibited as a finalist in the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship, the Conrad Jupiters Art Prize, the Metro Art Prize and Metro 5 Art Prize, and the Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Michael’s work has been written about in publications including The Age, The Herald-Sun, The Sydney Morning Herald and Art Monthly Australia and has appeared in several ABC TV arts programs. He is represented in private collections both in Australia and overseas and has work appearing in the Artbank collection. Michael Brennan is also the founding Director of Trocadero Art Space in Footscray and co-founder of Shifted in Richmond. He is currently completing a Master of Fine Art at Monash University.

Michael says the following about his new role: “I’m thrilled to be taking on this position at Footscray Arts. It’s an exciting role that will allow me to build on my existing relationships within the local community while stamping some of my own ideas on FCAC’s already highly regarded creative program.”
