We acknowledge that we are on traditional lands of the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin Nation. We offer our respect to the Elders of these traditional lands and, through them, to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Footscray Community Arts Centre has been a hub for creativity since 1974. Now, we’re working on our greatest creation yet!
Via our major capital works project, we’re creating an arts space for the 21st century.
The reinvention of our facilities will be commenced in June 2009 and completed in June 2010. The centrepiece will be a new 250-seat performance space. Our redeveloped buildings will also boast a new gallery, computer lab, and other multi-use spaces for meeting, seeing, creating and talking about art.
In the interim, we’re still open to the public. We’ve been working with Maribyrnong City Council to ensure a minimum of disruption to your visit to the Centre. Happy River Café is still open for business, (Tuesdays – Sundays), and we’re still producing an exciting program of events and projects to inspire and connect with the communities of the West.
So drop in or log on at footscrayarts.com to learn more about the construction of our new arts space – and everything else we’re creating.
