We acknowledge that we are on traditional lands of the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin Nation. We offer our respect to the Elders of these traditional lands and, through them, to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Participants in the first Learn from the Experts intensive workshop for 2009 had a great time visiting Little Saigon market with master chef Tina Le.
Participant Heather thought the workshop was brilliant. “A theatrical table setting when we arrived whetted our visual appetites. We then strolled to Little Saigon to learn about ingredients, before the informative and smiling Tina showed us how to make Vietnamese spring rolls and rice paper rolls properly. The smell and the taste of the real thing was sensational. Tina worried that we were all getting hungry as we washed, chopped, cooked and rolled, but I thought it just enhanced our anticipation of what turned out to be a magical introduction to simple, fresh, taste-bud-popping cuisine.”
If you would like to discover some of the secrets of Ethiopian cooking why not check out the next Learn from the Experts workshop A Taste of Footscray with Dershaye Tessema on Sunday 8 March. Or join Tina Le again on Sunday 15 March as she uncovers the secrets of the Vietnamese rice noodle dish pho.
