Footscray Community Arts Centre and Melbourne International Arts Festival present
The GO Show
Join us this October for a whirlwind tour of the West. The GO Show is back and this time it’s part of the 2008 Melbourne International Arts Festival.
Jump on board The GO Show bus at Footscray Train Station and take a tour of iconic venues around town, seeing the place and its people as never before. The bus winds its way to Whitten Oval – spiritual home of the Western Bulldogs – via Maddern Square in the heart of Footscray, to our very own Basement Theatre. Along the way you’ll experience a live performance event created under the artistic direction of choreographer and director Rebecca Hilton and featuring over 150 professional and non-professional artists and community members from across the western suburbs.
Experience a taste of the West, see what the locals are passionate about and enjoy a wealth of diverse talent at The GO Show. Throughout the year local residents and artists have been collaborating together in a series of workshops. Now you’ll get to see senior citizens from the Ethnic Chinese Happy Age Association, various groups based at Footscray Community Arts Centre, young and culturally diverse hip-hop artists, Victoria University students, umpires from the Western Region Football League Umpires Association and lots of others – all part of the action!
Bookings are essential for this unique dance, music and theatre event. The 2008 Melbourne International Arts Festival program has already been launched, so tickets are on sale now. Go on, come and experience The GO Show.
