Workshops with DBR
Footscray Community Arts Centre and Melbourne International Arts Festival present two very special events with US violinist and composer Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) – a Community Workshop for young musicians and a private intensive workshop with selected talented youth and emerging local professional artists.
If you are a musician aged 14-25 years, we invite you to enrol in the Community Workshop with DBR. DBR is running this workshop as part of our International Artist Residency Program. Places are strictly limited and interested young musicians should call 03 9362 8888 to enrol.
On Monday 23 October DBR will also lead a Workshop Intensive with selected talented youth and emerging local professional artists, including True Live’s Tamil Rogeon. The results of this Workshop Intensive will be presented at a private showcase.
Voted #3 Best Classical Moment of 2003 by the New York Times, DBR seamlessly blends funk, rock, hip-hop and classical music into a new sonic vision hailed by both classical and pop critics alike. As well as these two workshops at Footscray Community Arts Centre DBR will be performing as part of the 2006 Melbourne International Arts Festival. For more details visit www.melbournefestival.com.au
