Roll up! Roll up! It’s showtime for Big Top Hop, a hip hop show performed in a big top circus tent as part of Festival Melbourne 2006 for the Commonwealth Games.

Hip hop skills will meet circus skills as crews from around Melbourne take it to the Top in the greatest hip hop show on earth. Over 100 participants from hip hop crews from Footscray (Jungle City), Noble Park (D-Force), and Reservoir/Broadmeadows (ARAB Project) will be showing off their moves alongside circus performers Stephen Williams and Avan Whaite and hip hop dancers Nikki Ashby and the Demilition B Girl. A wicked resident band headed by Tamil Rogeon of True Live will deliver original beats, with the deadly vibes of Brisbane rap duo MIZ adding to the mix. With ringmaster Elf Tranzporter on the mic, Big Top Hop is a stand-up, knock-down, no-holds-barred three-ring hip hop free-for-all.
