First stop: Paris
Our Crowd Theory photos go on tour
In late 2004, hundreds of people converged on Footscray Community Arts Centre and Skinner Reserve in Braybrook to participate in two large-scale photo shoots. The result? Crowd Theory – two giant photographs, each more than two metres wide, made with award-winning artist Simon Terrill. The photographs ask: how do we imagine ourselves?
Now more people are set to ‘join the crowd’ as the Crowd Theory exhibition goes on tour. First stop: Paris, where the Footscray photo has been selected as part of an exhibition of Australian contemporary artwork for French cultural organisation Alliance Française. The photos will then return to Australia to tour to Liverpool and Lismore as part of Kultour, the Australia Council’s multicultural arts touring program. The crowds are getting bigger…
