Single day bookings: $64 full / $48 concession

From Tuesday 20 – Thursday 22 January 2009 Footscray Community Arts Centre is the place to bring your kids for an exciting and intensive School Holiday Arts Program designed especially for 6- to 12-year-olds. Or if your youngster is a little older, then Footscray Arts now has something hip and happening for them to enjoy too!
Footscray Arts’ January School Holiday Arts Program is celebrating two hugely successful years and as always it promises the budding young artist in your family a real holiday treat over three jam-packed days that are both educational and, more importantly, a whole lot of fun. Let your child stretch their creative wings in a range of music, art and performance classes taken by some of Melbourne’s top artists, including puppeteer Justine Warner, singer, writer and composer Amanda Armstrong, ceramicist Royce Warden, circus performer Staja Hobsbawn, visual artist Darien Pullen and award winning animator Nick Kallincos. Kids can try their hand at puppetry, animation and even circus but you’ll need to be quick to book their place as numbers are strictly limited.
Footscray Arts has not forgotten teenagers looking to art up their holidays. For the first time the Centre will host a day-long workshop program aimed especially at 13- to 16-year-olds. Your kids can get creative in a Stencil Art workshop taken by talented hybrid media artist Yasemin Sabuncu. Or they can unleash their holiday grooves in a Hip-Hop Moves and Beats workshop taken by local talent DJ Meste and Burn Troops hip-hop crew member Jason Lejcak.
Whatever age your child is, if they enjoy these School Holiday workshops then they’ll love the Footscray Arts Creative Kids Workshops Program available throughout the year.
