We acknowledge that we are on traditional lands of the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin Nation. We offer our respect to the Elders of these traditional lands and, through them, to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Presented by Footcray Community Arts Centre and the Arts Centre
Director: Hosted by Richard Watts
Curated and facilitated by Richard Watts, (host of 3RRR’s weekly SmartArts program), FULL TILT The Talk Show 2009 is a series of free forums featuring an eclectic array of individuals working across a broad spectrum of the arts.
The third forum in this stimulating series, More than Worthy: Artists in the Community, is co-presented by Footscray Community Arts Centre and the Arts Centre. While some may see the art produced through consultation and collaboration with the community as more ‘worthy’ than worthwhile, the quality and range of work in this sector is constantly increasing. The panel of professional artists and community participants will discuss the passion and power of art created with and for the public.
This session will focus on the philosophies and processes of contemporary community arts practice and features some of the most treasured members of Footscray Community Arts Centre’s arts family including filmmaker and hip hop artist Ezeldin Deng, choreographer and director Rebecca Hilton, sound artist James Hullick, and our very own Programming Manager Jeremy Gaden. There will be a special performance from the Centre’s resident sonic art group, The Amplified Elephants.
Please note this forum will be Auslan interpreted.
