What we do

Our work consists of the following parts:

Projects.
We produce community-focussed arts projects that challenge the role of art in society. Our projects work with a wide range of individuals, communities, artforms and organisations;

Programs.
Our programs include: a workshop program for people of all ages, a Community Cultural Development Artist Residency program, ArtLife (a program for people with disabilities to participate in arts activities and develop life skills), and Community Cultural Development Incubators (a program to support the growth of various groups associated with Footscray Arts);

Events.
Our events program includes performances, forums, showings of art in development, artist talks and exhibitions.

For more information, check out our artistic program.

What we are about

We are inspired by the dynamics between art and community; from this, we learn and, in turn, inspire new ways of creating, thinking, consuming and collaborating.

Mission

We lead and support involvement in and development of art in communities to challenge and demonstrate the role of art in our society.

Core objectives

Strategically support practice that challenges and demonstrates the role of art in our society

Create a dynamic environment in which leading practice of arts in the community is encouraged and supported

Investigate arts practice in the community through research, analysis and presentation

Be the conduit through which arts organisations and other organisations engage with art in our society.
